The Salt Path

Everything Moth and Raynor still own fits into a backpack. They have lost everything – their home, their money, and Moth’s health. With a small tent, they set out to hike the South West Coast Path, England’s famous coastal trail. All at once, their home is only ever where they are.

This book tells of a path to be traveled in more ways than one. First, as the name of the book says, it is about The Salt Path the South West Coast Path.  The even more important path, however, for the two in this book, is the path out of hopelessness after a difficult loss.

The story in the book flows easily, but still inspires deeper thoughts and questions on topics such as What do I really need in life? How do I deal with unexpected difficult situations and changes?

My home is only where I am. I kinda know that feeling. It makes me wonder about connection through people rather through place. Putting roots down in a place sounds more secure, but perhaps less dynamic. Thanks Thea for sharing this story.
